Massacre on Thawra Street: IOF Airstrike Kills Dozens, Mostly Women and Children in Gaza City

Gaza City, June 12, 2025 — A brutal Israeli airstrike carried out by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) warplanes has left dozens dead and wounded in a fresh massacre targeting Thawra Street in central Gaza City. The strike directly hit a residential home and adjacent tents sheltering displaced families, causing massive devastation and triggering a humanitarian outcry.

The bombing was so intense that debris from the destroyed home collapsed onto the nearby makeshift tents, killing and injuring many of the already displaced victims. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, with rescue teams struggling to retrieve bodies buried under the rubble.

According to medical sources, most of the victims are women and children, many of whom were asleep at the time of the attack. Health officials in Gaza confirmed that at least 36 martyrs have been killed across the Gaza Strip since dawn, with a significant portion of the fatalities occurring on Thawra Street.

Emergency services are overwhelmed, and hospitals are operating beyond capacity amid severe shortages of medical supplies due to the ongoing blockade. Human rights organizations have condemned the strike, labeling it a gross violation of international humanitarian law.

"Targeting displaced civilians, especially in areas known to house vulnerable populations, is unacceptable and constitutes a war crime," said a spokesperson from the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor. The latest strike is part of an escalating wave of Israeli military operations in Gaza, which has now entered its ninth month.

With each new strike, the civilian toll continues to climb, and the humanitarian crisis deepens. Thousands of displaced families have no safe haven as even areas designated as shelters are being bombarded.

Calls for an immediate ceasefire have intensified from international bodies and global leaders, urging urgent diplomatic intervention to halt the bloodshed. Meanwhile, Gaza’s residents continue to endure relentless violence, facing destruction, grief, and displacement daily.
